PC Gamers can now remove fingers from ears and cease humming loudly (as this article astutely points out). One of the best-selling games of last year is out for beige boxes on April 11. Eurogamer have the details...

I might get this actually. Its exactly the kind of break from the norm type game I fancy at the mo.
Ahhhh, but you can kill innocent bystanders, pickpocket people and steal horses!! Medieval GTA!
Oh well in that case I shan't be buying it but I SHALL be writing to my MP to have it banned.
I see the GTAIV ads are coming through the site now. He'll be banning this website next...
Not before time too.
Having watched DNM senselessly kill innocents in AC, in the brief demo he gave me, I have to ask: why would anyone do this more than once or twice? It's pretty dull compared to fighting enemies that can give you it back with interest. The same applies to GTA games...utterly pointless, the whole gratuitous (pointless) violence thang. Tbh, I'd rather rearrange my paint drawer.
Have to say the only draw that kept me going for AC was simply the achievements, take those away and it is a very empty game.
I thought the sword fighting was ace. Once you got into the timing and countering nature of it I found it most rewarding.
I agree, killing innocents isn't that rewarding - in any game. If that all AC or GTA had to offer, then I wouldn't bother either. It's merely something you CAN do, but don't have to.
In both AC and GTA there are lots of enemies that WILL fight back and lots of dynamic encounters that occur because of random sets of events. That's what makes these games appeal to me. The Chaos. The Immersion and the thrill of the chase (no matter which end of the pursuit I'm involved in).

Not enough variety though, which seems to be the general criticism of the game. Didn't bother me tbh, killing people in cool ways never got old. :)
Hence why they've used the PC version to correct certain mistakes a la Gears of War. It would be cool if they patched the 360 version accordingly. Release it as an add-on download maybe with another 250 achievements.
Interesting what you say about Achievements to be honest. What purpose do they serve other than to have a bigger number on your gamercard? what does it prove exactly? Does it mean you're a more dedicated gamer? That you play more of a single game? Or that you can afford to buy more of them? It's a curious study I must say. I'm equally obssessed with it by the way. The only reason I'm continuing DMC4 on 'human' at the moment is to unlock the 'completed the game on 'human' difficulty' achievement.
Have you been looking online for the 'locked' secret achievements? I try not to, but did end up having a look for Lost Odyssey. All that told me was that you'd have to play the game a lot more thoroughly than I did - and I spent over 60 hours with it in the end.
Achievements eh? Who says Microsoft haven't redefined the way we (at least us 360 owners anyway) play our games?

I do.
Me too.
Of course you do. You've yet to be enlightened/assimilated.
Resistance is not futile.
Not much cop apparently... It's a console game through and through...

Hmm, shallow empty eye candy with lots of pointless repetition and little challange,
Yep sounds like a console classic to me.

Not at all. Apart from maybe the repetition bit.
Merely suggesting this is a game designed specifically for a machine specifically tailored for gaming, and so the transition to a less dedicated control scheme and more demanding hardware hasn't worked terribly well...

What tosh. With the exception of the control method, the article says nothing about the success or failure of platform transition at all.
"On the whole though, everything that's been added works well enough. What's depressing is what they haven't done".
The game might not be 'much cop' but from that reviewers point of view - one whos played it on 360 and PC - the problem with this version is that its pretty much the same game as on 360. Therefore your assertion thats its 'not much cop' is hardly the fault of the platform but the game itself.

Stockholm Syndrome mate.
OK. I might have not read the whole article and made certain assumptions ;)
But then I really enjoyed the game on 360 and it didn't get very good reviews on that platform either. I merely assumed that by adding nothing new, the game couldn't be any worse. It sounds to me as though he was 'expecting' them to address certain flaws of the console version on this PC outing. Is that really fair?

Why not?
The games going to be enjoyed by some peope despite reviews. I reckon I'd probably enjoy it for a while, just cos its a bit different. Will probably wait until its bargain bucket though ;)

Hmmm...If the 360 is 'specifically tailored for gaming', then why does using it for gaming cause it to break so often?

yawn.
Well, don't nod off in front of a working (a rare thing, I know) Xbox 360, Bobi...

oh god. whatever...
Because, as I just said, it's a small price to pay for entry into a 'community'. People understand what it is. Everyone at work has one. I can hook up with people I know online almost any time of the day or night.
RROD permitting.
