While some aren't likely to ever concede that Bioshock was the most important game of the year, it seems that Eurogamer's Kieron Gillen isn't willing to let the apathy greeting recently released addtional content lie. Beware. This way be spoilers...

...and I've only got to:
"DUMBED DOWN SYSTEM SHOCK."
Yeah.
Okay.
This is a difficult one, because I'm pretty much incapable of reading a paragraph with it in without immediately, out of hand, rejecting the person saying as having anything worthwhile to say. It's a buzzphrase that's just shorthand for "I haven't actually thought about this at all". But actually trying to engage with it... people who throw the "dumbing down" complaints seem to have two genuine issues.
1) It's easier to play.
2) A load of interesting options have been removed so it's a much simpler game.
Lol!

Wow. What an amazing read.
Hmmm, that article was a bit long winded and IMHO, came across as "This is why everyone else is wrong and I'm right".
And wtf does 'most important game' mean? Did it land on Mars or discover a cure for a disease?

It's not that important.
It started off very prettily, and with a couple of nice ideas, but quickly got very repetitive and boring to the point where I gave up about half way through the level after Arcadia, through sheer apathy.
Does it get any better?
I'd rather be online taking the p**s out of you bobi, than wasting my scant free time playing Bioshock.

I would play it through at least until the middle. The big reveal is likely to keep you going for the remainder.
This article is a backlash to the backlash. I agree with a lot of his points, especially the bit about being too tired to explain why other people are so wrong and how it's a game that rewards those who have the time for it.
I don't even know if this new downloadable content is available for PC... I might have to have a look, if I can keep myself from cranking my gamerscore... :)

If a game needs defending then it's probably crap.
