It appears that the movie/TV rights to the City of Heroes/Villians ip have been picked up by the producers of The Transformers movie.
Whether this is a good thing remains to be seen.

Game movie.....shudder.
As has been said elsewhere - 'Please don't suck'

Sounds like an excuse for a Heroes clone to me.
I suspect it will suck, lick, gargle and swallow.

A movie of an MMOG. What a souless and contemptable idea.
Disagree. If the movie captured what the MMO players wanted the game to feel like, it would be great.
Imagine a WoW movie following the journey of a young guy from Elwynn Forest all the way through Azeroth to fulfill his destiny killing some high level boss in the Outlands. The nature of the medium would mean it wouldnt show the grinding, would focus on the story elements, could give background stuff to appease the fanbois (hero goes to Westfall to find out about something, have a guy in the background shouting "has anyone seen the Defias messenger?" etc lol), and would look effing great.
City of Heroes has a great premise. If the movie/TV show sticks to that premise and does it's own thing, it could rock.
It'll be better than Dr Effing Who, anyway.

Indeed. A coalition of superheroes and supervillains vs a huge all conquering army of invading aliens sounds like a pretty damn cool concept.
Its only the proven history of Hollywood screwing up just about every game licence in the crossover to celluloid that has my excitement well leashed.

Sounds like Xmen to me.
