I have wood.
Aye. Will wait for it to come to PC with better graphics and more content like last time - oh, and mouse and keys ;)
I won't.
Actually I won't either. And why won't you give us a straight answer about the alfcon you lazy f**king alf!
LOL...sorry dude. I won't be there :(
Bah. Ok Scarlett Pimper-baby. ;)
I honestly think this looks better than any equivalent stuff I've seen for PS3 (KIllzone 2 and Resistance included)
KZ2 pees all over it. Gears is great in cut scenes, stiff and choppy in gameplay. It doesn't strike me as big scale, or realistic. Yeah, lots is happening, but it seems quite separate from the over shoulder view. Don't like the art-style too. Typical Unreal 3 uber-steroids. Resistance 2's scale will dwarf both these games...Not that any footage has really come out for Res' 2.
Plus it doesn't actually match up to Uncharted (the game, not demo), and that's quite old now.
But didn't GoW actually invent that whole over the shoulder/hugging cover thing in the first place?
KZ2 will need to vastly improve on it's predecessor imho, I thought the orignal game was a bit pants.
I won't buy it.

RE4 re-invented the shoulder thing. Cover stuff was in older PS2 games like Killswitch. GOW simply fused two very old ideas.
Big deal.

No. Not exactly an exciting/ useful feature though, is it? More an over-used visual effect to show someone is moving.

About a minute in, actual gameplay...the guy gets shot, and his hat gets knocked off, and then bounces off the scenery. And every death scene is this involved. All the shrapnel, all the smoke, every little detail is rendered beautifully...I can't wait to get shooting in the Kzone 2 world.

Do you remember in Superman 2, when Supes was fighting Zod and his henchies in Metropolis, there was a scene where he gets a wall lobbed at him from a construction site which he explodes with laser vision.
I was always struck, even back then as a kid, at the detachment I felt because Christopher Reeve was plainly standing in front of a screen onto which the image was projected. He wasn't 'there' and it was obvious.
As much as I like the GoW2 vid I was struck with the same feeling early on, like the guy was in a Disney ride where nothing can really touch him cos its all a movie.
The KZ2 stuff just looked better, and looked as if it would feel more immersive. Not trying to be inflammatory there just 'mho'.
Very impressed I must say.

To be fair, the more 'staged' sections of the original Gears of War were my least favourite, and the one dictated in the video doesn't appeal to me either. What GoW does extremely well is proper on foot combat with some truly spectacular firefights involved.
Fairy nuff.
