No Manhunt 2 in the UK Profile for: EbowAdded by Ebow, 19-06-2007, links to http://www.rockstargames.com/manhunt2/
The BBFC have refused to certify Manhunt 2, so it won't be joining the other uber-violent games about killin' on the video store shelves. I wonder if it had a cathedral in it?

Well I must say I'm disappointed.

Oh no, actually I couldn't give a toss about Manhunt.

I bet secretely Rockstar are well pleased abou this. It's almost like they've been trying to get their games banned for years!

Its a "murder simulator". Is it any more complciated than that?

BBFC thought this went a step too far I think. Wow.

I wasn't interested in playing it. I was just wondering how much more violent it was than those Soldier of Fortune games where you get to dismember people apart with bullets...

I thought Soldier of Fortune was a bit of game about Murder wasn't it? And Hitman FFS!!!!

apparantly bannned due to excessive/unnecessary stealth and murder. the same as the first one?

rockstar are apprantly appealing this. will take some weeks for it to be resolved again.

note: pegi (the unofficial ratings people) passed it as ok. game also passed censors in the states. lol

Pah... pathetic. Properly violent games let you chose what percentage of a cities population you put to the sword, that’s after you've been firing decomposing cows at them for a couple of years.

The idea of genocide seems entirely acceptable, it's just the brutal (honest) depiction of it that get's people's knickers in a twist... ???

The establishments argument is thats its unlikely an unhinged person has an army of medieval knights to butcher a village "like they do in that game", but they are more than capable of stalking and strangling someone to death, "like they do in that game".

Its bulls**t of course but other than my unflinching stance against ignorant knee-jerk censorship, I can't say I'm upset Manhunt isn't being released here. I see little actual value in it as a game other than its 'shock factor'.

Seems more a hype vehicle for Rockstar than anything else.

Indeed. The level of discussion this seemingly innocuous game has created on this thread alone shows that Rockstar's job - at least in some capacity - has been done... Smile
