German games mag dishes the dirt on the final two playable classes in Bioware's upcoming MMO: The Jedi Consular & Sith Inquisitor - each addressing the notable mage/healer absense on both factions.

I for one, am relieved that they've streamlined the classes into a simple choice of
Warrior
Rogue
Ranged Warrior
& Healer/Mage
I'm sure each of these will have their own specialisations, allowing Jedi Consular's to focus on healing or DD/Crowd Control, for example...

Having played Champs a lot where you could effectively be what you wanted to be, I think theres a lot to be said for proper classes within an MMO. I loved the fact that if I wanted to be a Tank Mage in Champs I could the freedom to have the powers you wanted was wonderful, actually.
But with my Warden in LOTRO, I knew what my job was and the skills – while limiting - gave me tools that couldn’t be filled by anyone else and I always felt valued in my grouping. Personally, on reflection, I prefer this to Champs route, as exciting as it was and I’m please TOR is giving us classes.
What I don’t believe in is that WoW’s Holy Trinity is the alpha and omega of party structure in MMO’s. Games should always be looking for different party dynamics which is where customisation/specialisation can play a part. Am keen to see what TOR can offer.

Champs seemed to offer a Pandora's box of possibility - but then it also seemed to have levelled everything out so you could play as whatever you wanted and do OK.
There was never any "oh, we need a healer" in 95% of the instances I did in Champs - which was good and bad.
Didn't offer much in the way of the "RP" part of the game.
Am back in LOTRO big-stylee while everyone bashes goblins and twigmonsters in DA, and it's still the bestest looking and bestest playing one of the lot for mostly-solo sometimes-group play. Very often will be locked in battle and a random healer will just swish past and dump a load of health on me. Promotes convo. Promotes camaraderie. Enjoying it as much as before.
Healer/Mage for me in TOR, I think.
Or Warrior if Bobi is going to not be a red-haired axe-wielding lunatic in this one

I'm thinking Jedi consular, never been a healer before - so I might enjoy it more being able to get groups and stuff. Not that it matters - Bioware are putting story and adventure front and centre.
Really am wondering quite how MP this is gonna be. I'm guessing there won't be much in the way of pick-up groups and that the real MP stuff will be confined to dungeons specifically for this purpose - which is kinda cool. The only time I bothered grouping in WoW was for intances.
With any luck there'll be enough DA DLC (and Mass Effect 2) to keep playing Bioware games until this comes out - and then forever-more

You lie, you played a healer in WAR.
True. But only for about a week... :S

Imperial Agent or Bounty Hunter looking to be my favourite classes so far.
Force wielder FTW!
Booooooring. You can be a 'force weilder' in just about anything these days. Total yawnsville.

iPhone- Fu failure
I was thinking more 'consular/inquistor' style - I rarely play a mage/healer in anything.
Regardless though this is apparently 8 completely independent Single Player RPGs stacked on top of one another - so I'll most likely play through a fair few times...
