Installed the demo, finished it, un-installed.
Glad I'm not the only one.
I'll give the full game a go because I was brainwashed by marketing and bought it.
Then uninstall it and head back to the original, because it's better.

And all they had to do was bundle a headset with the console.
As far as I'm concerned, the PS3 is a blu ray player that occasionally gets dusted off the for the odd exclusive a couple times a year. That is all.

L4D2 sucks? More detail appriciated!
I found the demo too console-y.
LOTS of "look here, something for you!" hints popping up on the screen.
A horizontal playing-field. I know L4D is mostly horizontal, but L4D2 felt like you would never have to look up. Ever. Even a fraction.
It looked like the Team Fortress 2 guys had been at the in-game assets. Everybody looked like characatures (sp) of the original team.
Appreciate the demo is a taster only, but I would have expected some kind of finale affair, not just "throw this switch, head to the safe room, game over".
Good things - new monsters are OK; melee combat is fun (for a little while).
Perhaps it's the pant-wetting joy to be had with the original on a regular basis that made the sequel seem so... dull.
It felt like Left 4 Dead for the under-8s.
I will not be screaming at everyone to get the sequel. There is life and fun in the original for quite some time yet.
If I could refund my pre-purchase, I would. But as it stands, I've pre-loaded, will give it a look when it's released, then NEVER MENTION IT AGAIN.

Bland, comical, characterless survivors, less challenging then breathing. Boss infected go down way to easily.
Demo level is set in the daytime, which loses all the gorgeous `we spent ages making sure the mood and lighting was perfect` that featured throughout the first game.
I won`t list that as a negative, as it might just be that level, but I imagine my first criticisms will hold true.

and LOL at both of us posting that at the same time

lol! Thought I`d completely failed to notice your reply, then I sussed it.
Grr, I was afraid they might dumb it down for consoles. My flatmate is looking forward to getting L4D on the Xbox; I suspect it won't be a satisfying as the PC version because of the old mouse vs. joypadd control connundrum.
Anyone else notice Valve's little incentive to purchase this on Steam? A free virtual hat for your Team Fortress 2 characters. Seriously, is it just me or does anyone else think... wtf?!?
If the 'w' = 'Why' then yes. wtf woudl anybody be influenced by that. I know they will be though.
Valve don't have any right to diss anybody or anything after Half Life 2. f**k off, you franchise-spoiling alfs!
