Maybe I'm just getting old, but I feel as if I've been playing games out of obligation lately...
...and not just games either. Every second of free time I have these days seems to be filled up with games I still haven't finished yet, endless TV shows and films I've rented from Lovefilm and still haven't watched after 2 weeks. I'm sure you can sympathise... ;)
It's nothing to be moaning about of course, but I sometimes wish I could be bored for long enough to end up playing World of Warcraft for an hour or two, or perhaps even generate a touch of cabin fever and go out against my wallet's better judgement.
Nope. I am sitting around absolutely stuffed on a banquet of disposable entertainment and feeling guilty about NOT consuming it.
Lost Odyssey - perfectly decent JRPG, but after 60 hours it felt a bit like a part-time job. Devil May Cry 4 - perfectly decent action game, but was bored to tears with it's patronisingly low difficulty level, which I felt compelled to play through due to a lack of prior experience with the series and an unlockable M$achievement at the end. So I can play it at a higher difficulty... erm, not right now.
And now I'm playing Ninja Gaiden, almost against my will, because I've been putting off the last 4 chapters for about 3 years now, having got lots of grief about this fact, and I'm beginning to get excited about Part 2 - which I absolutely CANNOT play without finishing the first one. Ho Hum... it's like even the thing I love the most is becoming a chore.
Personally, I'd prefer to spend the time WAITING for GTAIV playing some of my older PC games. Maybe even re-visiting Fable via 360 emulation. The closest I've got to doing this, was re-installing the PC version of GTA: San Andreas, which I have to say hasn't got old at all - at least not in terms of gameplay... It's got me even more excited about the sequel. A more realistic city, more realistic cars, multiplayer... it will be the game of 2008 I'm sure.
And that is why I'm 'cleaning up' every other gaming obligation now, so next month can be spent exclusively in Liberty City.
Hell, even VW, the skintest man in the world(TM), is buying a 360 for the occasion- can you believe it?

I'll comment just so you know we're reading :)

And re your "personalising" the blogs suggestion somewhere else on the site...
If you could upload an image that would sit flush underneath the Blogs (and line) title for your blog entries, would that do the trick?
If yes, I'll get you dimensions and add it to the members panel.

Yeah that would be cool. Would it be assigned to each blog post individually? Or the blog as a whole? I don't suppose it matters, was just thinking about the possibility of changing it to reflect the subject matter of the article perhaps?
Could go either way.
How about:
- able to upload a top image when you add a blog entry
- upload an image that will be assigned to your blog entries when you don't add one to that entry
- will show as it shows now otherwise
And Woah... nice bug when arriving here from the What's New page. Dag nabbit!
Will look at both of these tonight :)
